angieee.

it's been such a busy week!
friday was angie's send-off.

we did angie's farewell gift at celest's house.
gosh it was SUPER messy!
hahaha like glue-paper-string-sequins-everywhere-kind-of messy.

olivia was so cutely-retarded.
she read off the glue bottle, "do not let glue come into contact with skin."
and 5 seconds later she yelped, "argh i got elephant glue on my fingerrr!"

we then headed to Crowne Plaza Hotel to explore the place (which was really beautiful!)

Daddy managed to get F1 tix for all three days!! :D

so daddy & kev went on fri, celest & me went ytd (coz zh was sucha nice guy to give up his ticket to that dumdum) & my folks went today.

and the F1 finals just ended! it was super exciting with all the accidents & mistakes & penalties.
argh i feel so sad for Massa! :(
(and my folks saw 2 of the crashes! argh UNFAIR.)

it's a game-thingy; you answer some vocab questions & for each answer you get right,
20 grains of rice will be donated thru the UN World Food Programme to help end hunger (:

i used to play it last time, and when i got bored of it and wanted to stop, i'd feel guilty coz it meant that less rice would be donated, so i'd continue playing. haha.
i dont know if it's really true that they donate the rice based on how many questions we get correct,
but anyway, it helps us improve our vocab which is GOOD FOR OUR GP! :D
and better yet, it helps you accumulate GOOD KARMA, which is very very impt especially for us who will be taking our As.
heh.
i donated almost 7000 grains of rice todayy :D
and here's a new word i learnt today: somniferous

Mamma mia! here I go again.

My my, how can I resist you?

mama mia was awesome! :D
some parts were quite touching, i actually cried. haha.
and dont laugh at me, but i secretly think Pierce Brosnan is hot.
i mean look at that guy. he's about 3 times our age & still OOZES charisma!

i need to whine.
my body clock is so screwed! i've been eating irregular meals & sleeping irregular hours.
my weight has been fluctuating alot. either that, or the gravitational acceleration is changing way too much around here.

and the big As are in 39 freaking days!!
omgg hyperventilate

help i need a miracle!
i'm going to conscientiously do all my hw & attend all the revision lectures & remedials & whatever-nots & pray that it'll be enough for me to get into NUS Faculty of the Arts & Social Sciences.

i've always disliked making decisions; especially if they concern my future.
but i've FINALLY decided that if i manage to get into NUS Arts, i'm gonna do Theatre Studies/ Mass Comm/ Sociology/ Psychology.
okay still quite a long list. but at least i've managed to narrow it down to these few (:

the place was really funky; i had no idea there were so many cool places to hang out at Dempsey Hill. but the event was hugely disappointing :(

SO, we cabbed to town from there & went SHOPPING :D
and i bought some stuff so the trip wasn't wasted. hee.

i've been playing so much it seems as though the As are already over.
and i've managed to exhaust all my going-out chances,
which means that:
i cant go for our HOT DATE (as jm puts it) tmr!
sniffles.
argh i'm more or less grounded; except for birthday celebrations, angie's send-off this fri & sentosa with 2a this sat (which i haven't actually asked for permission yet..but i'm sure if i asked REALLY nicely & sweetly...)

i was doing...geog. (:

haha kev kept asking me questions from his geog hw.
and surprisingly i could still remember how levees, oxbow lakes, plunge pools, block mountains, etc were formed!
dont you just miss geog? :D
okay not really. but it's wayyy more interesting than chem for sure.

i'm so horribly screwed for prelims i honestly don't know whether to laugh or to cry.

-start rant-
ARGHHH! why am i always like this? when i manage to force myself to study, i find that i can't focus.
there are too many distractions around and i am far too easily distracted.
if this continues, i probably should just forget about taking the As.

and physics sucked. BIG TIME.
i don't think it was supposed to be such a difficult paper, but i couldn't do almost all of it!
i had so much time i did all 3 questions of paper B. :D
AND i still had time left.
to flip though the paper to see all the blanks which i left & stupid answers which i wrote.
"i would use a pressure cooker."
i doubt anyone would write this in a physics paper but me. (i hope mdm chen doesn't get a heart attack when she sees it. haha )

SIGHHH. i need to buck up!!
spending 2 weeks catching up on 2 years' work was a bad bad idea.
after prelims, i'll have 6 weeks to catch up on 2 years' work.
that's ...scary. damn freaking scary.
but i am going to do it! i have to do it.
i promise to work hard after prelims!!
i know i always say that after every single exam which i flunked in hwachong (which happens to be all of them..), BUT this time i'm dead serious!
well, coz i realised it's the last chance i've got, and there won't be a next time.

okay that said, thursdays are nice days. (: nice couch-potato-days

What's this Love We all Talk About?


ytd while studying dilligently for econs, (yes, dilligently :D)
i realised a very ...peculiar thing.

why is it that we can love something with all our heart, never expecting it to love us back, and we'll be happy just being able to love?

okay like how i love strawberries, and looking at the stars, and walking by the beach, and lots of other stuff. and they'll never be able to love me back.
like how stella loves kitkatchunky & eating in general (haha), and she wont expect them to love her back,
or like how qiuyu loves yamapi without expecting him to love her back (okay maybe she does. but for argument's sake we'll pretend that she doesn't :D)
and we're perfectly fine with loving things which can never love us the way we love them.

but when it comes to loving someone, it's different all of a sudden.
we love. and we expect to be loved in return.
when the person we love doesn't love us or maybe just not enough, we whine, and we complain, and we cry our hearts out over heartbreaks & unrequited love.

why are humans so special? or should i say so difficult to satisfy?
i mean look at spiders for example. (haha i bet stella is cringing.)
the guy spider meets the girl spider.
they fall in luurve.
they have sex mate.
and after that the girl spider freaking EATS UP the guy spider!! (okay this is true only for certain species. i think. )
and i'm sure the guy spider must have known it all along.
at some point in time he would have seen his good friends'/ brothers'/ cousins' sorry fates.
he should have stayed away.
but NOOO he still falls in love with the girl spider, and have sex mate, and gets himself eaten up.
WHHHYYY?
i mean why does he accept it?
he doesn't go expecting the girl spider to love him back & go, "oh i love you so much & i will never eat you!" and expect them to live happily ever after.

what makes us so different then?
why dont we all just be like spiders and be perfectly alright with loving but not being loved?
and i then i realised why.
why we could never be like spiders.

it's all because we're GREEDY!
and we're insatiable.
and we have unlimited wants.
which cannot be met because we're restricted by the concave PPC and points outside the PPC are desirable but unattainable and this is due to...

must be the econs getting to me.
speaking of which, i really hope i can pass econs!!
pleasepleaseplease let me pass econs!
finishing the paper half-an-hour ahead of time is NOT a good sign.
