What's this Love We all Talk About?ytd while studying dilligently for econs, (yes, dilligently :D)
i realised a very
...peculiar thing.
why is it that we can love something with all our heart, never expecting it to love us back, and we'll be happy just being able to love?
okay like how i love strawberries, and looking at the stars, and walking by the beach, and lots of other stuff. and they'll never be able to love me back.
like how stella loves kitkatchunky & eating in general (haha), and she wont expect them to love her back,
or like how qiuyu loves yamapi without expecting him to love her back (okay maybe she does. but for argument's sake we'll pretend that she doesn't :D)
and we're perfectly fine with loving things which can never love us the way we love them.
but when it comes to loving someone, it's different all of a sudden.
we love. and we expect to be loved in return.
when the person we love doesn't love us or maybe just not enough, we whine, and we complain, and we cry our hearts out over heartbreaks & unrequited love.
why are humans so special? or should i say so difficult to satisfy?
i mean look at spiders for example. (haha i bet stella is cringing.)
the guy spider meets the girl spider.
they fall in
luurve. they
have sex mate.
and after that the girl spider freaking
EATS UP the guy spider!! (okay this is true only for certain species. i think. )
and i'm sure the guy spider must have known it all along.
at some point in time he would have seen his good friends'/ brothers'/ cousins' sorry fates.
he should have stayed away.
but NOOO he still falls in love with the girl spider, and
have sex mate, and gets himself eaten up.
WHHHYYY?i mean why does he accept it?
he doesn't go expecting the girl spider to love him back & go, "oh i love you so much & i will never eat you!" and expect them to live happily ever after.
what makes us so different then?
why dont we all just be like spiders and be perfectly alright with loving but not being loved?
and i then i realised why.
why we could never be like spiders.
it's all because we're
GREEDY!and we're insatiable.
and we have unlimited wants.
which cannot be met because we're restricted by the concave PPC and points outside the PPC are desirable but unattainable and this is due to...
must be the econs getting to me.
speaking of which, i really hope i can pass econs!!
pleasepleaseplease let me pass econs!finishing the paper half-an-hour ahead of time is NOT a good sign.
