perks of being a teacher.being a teacher kinda makes you an instant mini-celebrity.
when you walk along the corridor, or sit in the canteen, kids come up to you & go,
"MISS NG!!! HELLO!!"
(some of whom i do not recall teaching at all :P haha come on there are so many kids okay.)
sometimes when i walk pass classrooms (with teachers inside) the kids spot me & shout "hi miss ng!!!" to the chagrin of their teacher.
it's super cute.
so today, i walked into a lift (2 students & a teacher were already inside), & one of the students excitedly shouted,
"HELLO MISS NG!" & i smiled and said hello back.
and the teacher scolded the student & said,
" HELLO WHAT HELLO?! MISS NG YOUR BEST FRIEND ARH?? IT'S GOOD AFTERNOON! NOT HELLO!"
and i was trying so hard not to laugh coz i found it so ticklish. :D

despite the obvious language barrier, i had truckloads of fun during the trip. the scenery was awesome. the food was awesome.

to my family who never fails to make me feel special:thanks for all the things you guys did. be it coming specially to the airport to fetch me & to wish me happy birthday, or celebrating my birthday with me even though all of you are so busy, buying that bloody ex cake for me (despite me vehemently insisting that i don't need a cake), buying me presents (yes, even The Brother haha :D)
went to
Corriander Leaf again & the food was as good! ('shakingly orgasmic' as qy puts it. haha). we were like the only non-angmohs in the whole restaurant -.- felt super weird.

I AM NOT A HAZARD.4/1, Sun
gave tuition in the morn.
this is the first time i'm mentioning it here but you know what, my 3 tutees are kids of
Gurkhas.which means i get to enter the Gurkha Camp/whatever-it's-called @ Mount Vernon every sat & sun.
it's freaking cool. they have armed guards everywhere.
the place is huge. with swimming pools, ball courts, training areas, etc.
and far far in, where the families of the older Gurkhas stay, it's like a cluster of many HDB flats. the whole cantonment exists like a small separate community within Singapore.
my tutees are very cute & willing to learn (except the boy. but he's the cutest oh well haha)
and that isn't even the best part.
all the guys there have
super freaking hot bods. like seriously.
hahaha and most are quite young (arnd 18-23 yrs old)
and not to mention some of them are very good-looking too
i have to remind myself not to ogle everytime i go there.
anyway, headed over to marcus' after that to hang out & all of us kept playing
DJ Max &
Grand Theft Auto(shooting + running over people with our cars = disturbingly addictive).
marcus was supposed to cook for us but he didn't in the end, and i suppose that's the reason we're still alive & healthy [:
had a very lengthy & INTELLECTUAL discussion with jm about the "i win, you do, etc" thing which was hilarious.
gave everyone a good laugh due the Yi Zhi Mei (Iljimae) blooper [bernard you TRAITOR. i was so embarrassed la.]
oh and of course not to forget the highly amusing stories of jm's drunk self. :D
dinner was Satay & Hokkien Mee @ the huge Bukit Batok coffee shop with all the good food [:
hunted all over for cold Barcadi Breezer haha b4 going to a few playgrounds to chill.
absolutely love these people to bits.
everytime we hang out, i end up laughing till my sides hurt & my cheek muscles ache. (not exaggerating)
and i find myself thinking of the random retarded things we do & smiling to myself like the idiot i am not. [:
we must video jm the next time she's drunk & put her on youtube.
5/1, Monwas almost late for sch today (haha yq you were spot on)
feels extremely weird attending an assembly during which people actually sing the national anthem & say the pledge out loud. haven't done that in donkey years.
the sch song & pledge were the same as that 6 years ago (i still remembered how to sing it. tho i shall shamelessly admit that i have never learnt Hwachong's school song :D)
and i was such a tard that i said half the student's pledge (with my right hand over my heart)before i realised that it was the
STUDENT'S pledge
AND I. WAS. NOT. A. STUDENT.
work was way slack today :D
spent the day reading my book (managed to finish it) & saying stuff like "okay do whatever you want quietly", "Hello if you need to talk please whisper", "EXCUSE ME CLASS DO YOU ALL UNDERSTAND WHAT IS 'WHISPER'??!" and other anal stuff relief teachers say like, " from now on i don't want to hear anyone talking" ETC.
the classes i took were much quieter than the one i took last fri.
either that, or maybe i'm gradually becoming desensitized to the noise.
basically i was paid 65 bucks for reading my book & doing absolutely nth [:
days like this make me love my job.
plus today's kids were really cute. they'd go, "Ms Ng (that's me), may i go to the toilet please?" and give me these super cute & sweet smiles that make me melt instantly. hahaha
taiwan trip soon!freaking eggcited. stella's my roomy haha she sent me this freaking hilariously cute sms asking me to do sth for her. i'd post it here but i'm afraid she'll murder me in my sleep when we're in Taiwan :D

met rachel, eve, jm & ber @ ikea for meatballzxzx [:
headed down to vivo to meet zh & yq. took dennis' car into Sentosa.
this year's
SBP was much better than last year's.
better music, larger crowd, nicer ambience, etc. (and better pay too woohoo :D)
and the countdown was definitely more hyped up. so were the angmohs.
they ran around shouting
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" and
"WHAT'S UP DUDE"
in your face. haha
after the party we cabbed down to my place & while walking in, the freaking security guard had this cheeky smile &
LOOK on his face which clearly said something along the lines of,
"hmm a girl bringing 2 guys home @ 4am? INTERESTING :D"
argh damn it my reputation is ruined.
and just in case you're wondering, no we didn't have a threesome or whatever hahaha
we just hung out by the pool & chilled.
it looks much better/nicer/more romantic IRL.
in the Ladies, while the guys took turns to shower.
(and where yq left his trunks! hahaha & i keep forgetting to check if they're still there.)
man i'm gonna miss them gazillion loads when they go into tekong next week :((((
anyway, after our sumptuous mac breakfast, we went for
4a chalet, which had like only a few people haha.

and left early with yq & ah pui coz i had to wake up superearly for work the next day.
p.s. for those people who pangseh-ed/didn't go for 4a chalet, please
be nice & pay nh some money coz she has to fork out the extra 80 plus bucks herself which is highly unfair considering how much trouble she already went through booking the chalet itself. thanks [:

AM for my relief teaching post @ Keming.
5 plus AM is freaking early la. when i was still in hwachong i woke up @ 7 plus can.
anyway, the kids were
MONSTERS i tell you. i was lucky i managed to make it out alive.
okay i'm exaggerating but still. they were effing noisy la.
had to yell & show them my "i'm pissed" face before they would shut up & let me talk for like 1 min before the whole process repeated itself.
the guys especially, were horrible.
i made the class stand up coz they were too noisy & then i allowed the girls to sit, and a few guys sat down too.
i asked one of them why he was sitting down & he replied, "teacher, i'm a GIRL," and crossed his legs in the girly way while giving me a cheeky smile.
and as if being goddamn noisy wasn't enough, the guys had to be mischievous too.
"cher, he wanna scare you with a spider!"i cringed inwardly. but gave a nonchalant, i-dont-give-a-shit look.
"cher, you scared of spider??""NO," i replied with a very brave look on my face. or at least i tried to look brave. haha
"okay," he said, and he thrust the spider(which was in btwn his thumb & first finger) 2 inches away from my face while going
"ahhh!".
i freaked out & went,
"EEUURGHHH!" while leaning as far away as i could w/o falling off the chair.
and the guys burst into laughter while i rolled my eyes & tried to pretend that i didn't just embarrass myself in front of a bunch of rowdy 11yo kids.
argh stupid kids.
thank god i was only taking their class for one day.
dear God, i pray for their teacher to be in the best of health & never EVER go on mc. AMEN. [:
wish me luck for my coming week of more relief teaching!
